Benefits to Business
through the
TRANSCENDENTAL MEDITATION and
TM-SIDHI Programme

In a large study conducted over a 5-month period by the
National Institute of Industrial Health of the Japanese Ministry
of Labour and the St. Marianna Medical Institute, 447 industrial
workers of Sumitomo Heavy industries were taught the
Transcendental Meditation technique and compared with 321
workers who did not learn the Transcendental Meditation
technique. The Transcendental Meditation technique group showed
significantly decreased physical complaints, decreased
impulsiveness, decreased emotional instability, decreased
neurotic tendencies, decreased anxiety, and decreased insomnia.

Employees practising the Transcendental Meditation Programme
an average of 11 months showed significant improvements at work
compared with members of a control group. Relationships with
co-workers and supervisors improved, and job performance and job
satisfaction increased, while the desire to change jobs
decreased (ref. 1). The results of this research were replicated
in a study with several control groups, which also found
significant improvements in the same areas (ref. 2).

Conclusion
The experience of unbounded awareness during the
Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Programmes neutralises
the stress born of routine work. It leads to broad,
comprehensive vision, with the ability to spontaneously
"compute" whatever is necessary to achieve a goal with
the least effort and greatest benefit for oneself, the
organisation, and society. One's job becomes a means to unfold
higher levels of success, personal development, and
satisfaction.
